Night: San José
About twenty minutes after leaving the capital city of San José, in direction of the Caribbean planes, you will find the Braulio Carrillo National Park, one of the biggest and most bio-diverse of Costa Rica. After crossing it from one side to the other, you will have observed the transition between the cloud forest and the rainforest, to finally meet the planes that extend all the way to the west coast of the country. At the end of the transfer, you will have reached the South Caribbean, an awesome region of beaches and jungle amidst the unmistakable caribbean culture and gastronomy
Night: Puerto Viejo
Full day to enjoy the gorgeous South Caribbean, its afro-caribbean culture and gastronomy. Enjoy lunch at a local seaside restaurant in Puerto Viejo, go surfing in Cocles Beach or hike the natural trails of Manzanillo – the South Caribbean experience is unique. You will take a boat tour in search of the bottlenose and spotted dolphins in the Atlantic Ocean in front of Manzanillo.

Today you leave the South Caribbean to travel to Sarapiquí’s rainforest. This is a jewel from a biological standpoint but also from an eco-tourism perspective, with all kinds of activities in nature, agro-tourism and adventure, This is an excellent stop between the West Coast and the Northern plains of Costa Rica. You will have a night walk in the rainforest, to get a very different perspective of the tropical wildlife!
Night: Sarapiquí
Today you will transfer from Sarapiquí to La Fortuna, home of the Arenal Volcano: in 1968 it was just a hill, but then it erupted and burried the little village called Pueblo Nuevo. The amazing strombolian eruptions quickly drew the attention of tourists and La Fortuna became what it is today. Even though it is dormant since 2010, internally it is still very active and warms the subterranean water, producing the famous hotsprings that you will visit to relax at the end of the day
Night: La Fortuna
This morning you will go for an adventure where you will have the opportunity to explore the area from the sky! After a quick oxcart ride, you will reach the first of several fun-filled platforms: you will glide on cables from platform to platform on the canopy of the forest. Then you will visit a Maleku Trive Hut for an educational experience about their culture and crafts. You can also enjoy the butterfly garden and the reptile garden on site. End of the day free.
Night: La Fortuna
Today you will take your shuttle to drive back near the SJO international Airport for your last night in Costa Rica
